Why Grow to Order?Unlike growing food without a confirmed buyer, growing-to-order offers: Reduced waste: We minimize food waste since we only cultivate what has been specifically requested. This helps avoid excess production and the risk of unsold inventory. Fresher produce: Growing to order allows us to harvest and deliver our produce at its peak freshness. This ensures our customers receive the freshest and highest quality products possible. Efficient resource allocation: Knowing the exact demand enables us to allocate resources more efficiently, including water, soil, energy, and labor. This approach promotes sustainability and reduces unnecessary resource usage. Direct connection with customers: Growing food to order fosters a direct relationship between farmers and customers. This connection allows for better communication, understanding customer preferences, and building trust in the quality and origin of the food. Better pricing: When food is produced in hopes of selling, either the farmer or retailer must bake in a certain amount of spoilage into their pricing – which means you’re footing the bill. Because we grow-to-order, this is a cost savings we can pass along to our customers. To sum it all up, growing food to order aligns production with demand, minimizes waste, ensures freshness, optimizes resource allocation, strengthens the farmer-customer relationship, and provides savings to the end-customer.

Are Your Microgreens Organic? Our microgreens are 100% organic. They are grown in certified organic soil from organic, non-GMO seeds. We do not use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or any other chemicals in our cultivation process. We firmly believe in avoiding chemicals wherever possible – especially when it comes to the food we provide for our family.
-
Soil-Grown vs Hydroponic? Many microgreens on the market today are grown hydroponically, without soil, and therefore rely on processed liquid fertilizer concentrate for their essential nutrients. At Triskele Farms, we only use premium certified organic soil, which provides a superior, more familiar, and natural nutrient profile compared to liquid fertilizers. Some advantages of using soil in indoor vertical farming include: Enhanced Nutrient Profile: Soil naturally contains a rich array of minerals and nutrients that contribute to a diverse and balanced nutrient profile in crops. This enhances flavors, aromas, and nutritional content. Microbial Interaction: Soil is teeming with beneficial microorganisms and fungi that interact symbiotically with plant roots. These microbes aid in nutrient uptake, enhance plant resilience to stress, and promote overall plant health. Natural Buffering: Soil acts as a natural buffer, stabilizing and regulating moisture levels, pH, and nutrient availability. This creates a stable and forgiving environment for plant growth, reducing fluctuations that may occur in hydroponic systems. Sustainability: Incorporating soil into indoor vertical farming is an eco-friendly approach. Soil is renewable, contributing to soil conservation, carbon sequestration, and the preservation of soil biodiversity. 100% of our “spent” soil is composted.

What Is Your Return Policy? We do not offer returns, however, if there is an issue with your product, please feel free to call, text or email us. We are happy to exchange your product for something of equal or lesser value. Please refer to the ‘How Long Do Microgreens Last?’ question below to get the longest shelf life out of your microgreens. We are committing to making sure our customers are 100% happy with their product.
-
How Long Do Microgreen Last? Our microgreens can be stored in the refrigerator for a period of 7-10 days. It's important to note that different microgreens may have varying shelf lives, so it's advisable to monitor them daily and use your own judgment before consuming any greens that are over a week old. To maintain their freshness, it's best to keep microgreens cool and dry, as they are sensitive to heat and moisture. We dry harvest our microgreens, meaning they do not get watering the day of harvest. This is to prevent them from retaining excess water. However, they may still release trace amounts of moisture. To extend the life of your microgreens as much as possible, we include a food-grade silica packet in each product container to help mitigate excess moisture build-up and prevent wilting. We pull all the stops to keep your greens are fresh as possible!
-
Do Microgreens Need to Be Washed? Our microgreens do not technically need to be washed since they grow in a very clean and controlled indoor environment. However, we do recommend rinsing them with cool water before consumption.
-
Is Your Packaging BPA-free?We package all our microgreens into 100% recyclable, BPA-free, food grade deli containers. We have been looking to transition to fully compostable containers but so far have not found any that hold up as well as PET plastic.
